Despite the fact that the Wii and the sun aren’t exactly the best of friends, a couple of enterprising modders from Tom’s Hardware went and built themselves a solar-powered Wii to waste their upcoming summer days with.

In fact, it uses sunlight to juice up not only the Wii, but a TV and speakers as well. By using a battery in conjunction with a solar panel (so the unit isn’t relying solely on the sun), they’re able to get from 6-8 hours of game time from this thing on a sunny day. That’s more than enough time to get a sunstroke or at least really, really bored with Wii Play.
