This one's called Captain's Log, and it's actually just a clever skin for a little collection of social networks. And as gimmicky as it is, it captures a whiff of what the iPad really is for a lot of people: Sci-Fi wish fulfillment. For a certain type of human, this will be enough to justify this oversized iPhone's existence.
