CamCorderInfo has the first review I’ve seen of the Sony DCR-PC350, the new pocket-sized camcorder with the 3.31-megapixel sensor. Sadly, although it’s a pretty decent review in general, they don’t talk too much about the still image quality, something I’m sure many of us would like to know more about, since one of the major selling points of the DCR-PC350 is its function as a convergence device. Still, there is some good information in there, including talk of a “Cinematic Effect” setting that shoots video progressively, tweaks the color, and drops every fifth frame in an effort to emulate the look of film. And it works, sort of, at least as an interesting effect (although they say it ends up looking more like 8mm film than fancy, Hollywood-quality stuff.)
