You can blame Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show for all those “lol you’ve gotta watch this!” emails from your mom that you constantly have to delete. But we begrudgingly have to admit that aliens, Jedis, droids, and Sith singing Smash Mouth’s “All Star” is shockingly well done.
The video uses clips from every single Star Wars movie, right up through Rogue One (but wisely leaving out Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure). These days May the Fourth has become a non-stop barrage of brands trying to cash in on the popularity of Star Wars via social media, but somehow this—despite being based on one of the most obnoxious, overplayed songs of all time—doesn’t feel quite as gross.
