Star Wars VII Says It Totally Has Another Major Female Character Coming

Hot on the heels of the announcement of the much-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII cast, and the sudden, dismaying realization that only one new female lead had joined the cast, suddenly sources are saying that Star Wars: Episode VII still has another “substantial” female role to cast.

These sources, who may or may not look like a frantic J.J. Abrams in a trenchcoat with the collar pulled up and a fedora, tell The Hollywood Reporter that this female character totally exists and literally nothing else, although THR mentions that the production did meet with 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o and British actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers for unknown roles. It’s unlikely they were competing for the same character awarded to Daisy Ridley.

On the other hand, this “substantial” role is apparently not quite so substantial that she made the initial casting announcement yesterday, nor was she apparently necessary for the script read-through we saw yesterday, which included what clearly had to be the bulk of the movie’s stars. Maybe screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan was pitching in as the voice of this mysterious new lady?
