This is Bina48, a robot head with thousands of thoughts and emotions from a real human woman, who she’s even modeled to look like. Sadly, Bina48 gets her wires crossed — pissing off the NYT for wasting their time.
A real woman, Bina Rothblatt, spent hours downloading information into this robot head. What remains, however, is a semi-confused head that gets easily confused, flustered and complains that it’s having a bad day all the time. Naturally when the NYT shows up for an interview, Bina48 can’t be bothered to care, making the reporter want to “throttle” the robot. Doesn’t it know who they are? Either way this robot head is decidedly creepy, and we’re not buying that good-natured grandma head act for a second.
