Several months after its release, it’s still difficult to track down Nintendo’s amazing NES Classic Edition. The tiny console is everything you want it to be, but it does have one tiny flaw that isn’t related to limited retail availability: incredibly short controller cords.
To date, Analogue has released adapters allowing nostalgic gamers to use modern wireless controllers on both their classic NES and Super Nintendo consoles. But the company, working with 8Bitdo, is turning the clock back even further with a new wireless adapter for the 40-year-old Apple II and IIc computers.
8Bitdo, the company behind those Bluetooth SNES and NES controllers that let you play classic 8 and 16-bit games without annoying wires, is teasing this gorgeous wooden retro desktop arcade on its Facebook page, and at the Gamescom convention currently underway in Cologne, Germany.
8Bitdo is probably best known for its Bluetooth gaming controllers, including the NES30 that paid homage to Nintendo’s original 8-bit console. But the company is now expanding its catalog with a new Bluetooth speaker that longtime gamers will find equally hard to resist.
