TabletPCTalk has an early review of the Acer C102i Tablet PC. These have already gone on sale in Canada, despite the fact that the official launch date for the Tablet PC is November 7th. Apparently there was some confusion on Acer’s end about when retail channels could start selling these. Read
RIM has two new handhelds on the way, the BlackBerry 6710 and 6720. The 6700 series isn’t a major departure from earlier models though, the biggest differences with the 5800 series are the 6710 and 6720’s intergrated speakers and microphones, backlit displays, and the ability roam globally on both GSM and GPRS networks. Sanyo’s new cameraphone, the clamshell-style 5300, is coming out here next month. It runs on Sprint’s PCS Vision network, has a 16-bit, 65,000 color, 2.2 inch screen, but the really great thing about the 5300 is that it’s 640×480 resolution digital camera has a built-in flash. Read

Bluetooth keyboards and mice are on the way from Microsoft. Their Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth which will include a keyboard, mouse, and a Bluetooth transceiver, and their Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth, will both hit stores next month. CNET really likes the new LG 5350 cellphone with a 120×133 pixel, 65,000 color screen. The 5350 operates on PCS Vision, Sprint’s high speed 3G network, but CNET notes, as several others have noticed, that surfing the web with PCS Vision isn’t any faster than it was on Sprint’s old 2G network.
