When does superhero cosplay slide over into becoming fetishwear? When it gets too shiny. And too kinky.

The monthly Jaded fetish event in Lowell, Mass. had a superhero night last weekend, and some of the looks go way beyond what you'd see at Comic-Con. There were some body-painted superheroes, including Mystique from X-Men and Captain America. There was a bondage-happy Harley Quinn. And there was a whole lot of kinky burlesque. Check out some photos, which may be NSFW, below.

Jaded Night is a monthly fetish night in the historic downtown of Lowell, Mass., at Gemstones, a nightclub upstairs at the quaintly named Blue Shamrock Pub. The name "Jaded" is meant to reflect the sense that people are "sick of the same old club scene," and they want a club that's something different every month. The event is organized by Sarula, a club promoter, performer, graphic designer and dominatrix in the Boston area.

The amazing body-painting at this event was done by Roustan Body Paint. Photos by the incredible Shadow Darkwell with Darkwell Studios.

With that out of the way, here are some photos. As always, just click to expand, or right-click and select "open link in new tab." Warning: They are a wee bit kinky.

I was going to write captions for these photos, but then I decided they were self-explanatory. Feel free to pipe up in comments if you believe they require further exegesis.
