The Flash Gives Us an Amazing First Look at Jay Garrick, the Golden Age Flash!

We’ve known for a while that The Flash would be bringing in the original Flash, Jay Garrick, in its second season. Now we’ve got our first look at Teddy Sears in action as the Flash of Earth-2, and it’s in a glorious, glorious homage to the iconic comic cover for The Flash #123: Flash Of Two Worlds!

Sure, it’s a little hokey, but what a fantastic way to reveal the new—well, technically “new”—Flash. Sears’ costume is wonderfully faithful to the classic Jay Garrick look, with the addition of a pair of gloves being the only major difference. Holy shit, the helmet! They’re putting Jay Garrick on a television show in 2015 and it looks amazing! I’m pretty sure The Flash is a figment of our imaginations, a world where the goofiest comic-book glory can be seen on TV and somehow have it work. Here’s a better look at just the new take on the iconic cover:


On top of the reveal, the CW also confirmed that the show will speed its way back onto TVs in just a few months: Tuesday, October 6th.
