It’s no secret that Sony has been drifting lately: profits are way down, competitors like Samsung are beating them on both price and design, and they’ve all but ceded the portable digital audio market to Apple and its iPod. Forbes.com looks at the company’s malaise and wonders whether the expected ascension of PlayStation and PlayStation 2 creator Ken Kutaragi (pictured at right) to the helm might turn things around. If Kutaragi’s latest brainchild, the PlayStation Portable, is any indication, it’s way too early to count Sony out.
