Looks like Acer has tipped its hand and will be producing HD-DVD laptops this year, fast on Toshiba’s long tail. No details on the final implementation—and, most importantly, no details on if Acer will also support Blu-Ray—but we should get a few bets together on the winning format. I’m currently inching towards BR, but HD-DVD just sounds so unproprietary that it feels like it’s going to win. What say ye?
