Forgive yourself for thinking that Blockbuster went out of business years ago but, in reality, Blockbuster officially shut down its remaining 300 video rental stores this past weekend, on Saturday, November 9th. The last movie ever rented at everyone’s favorite video store? Hilarious stoner comedy with the most poetic-est on-the-nose title ever for this type of end-of-the-road moment: This Is The End. It really doesn’t get more perfect than that.
The last Blockbuster rental was made at a Hawaii location at 11PM on 11/9. It really was the end. Well, for them. We still have Netflix.
