This is the new LCD display in the cockpit for the new revision F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. It looks like an awesome 90s arcade videogame. One that doesn’t allow you to insert a coin to continue when you die.
The new LCD screen shows a 3D situational awareness display that offers a clear view of the terrain—with the option for a color contour line overlay—along with threats and targets. It also shows the effective radius for each type of missile selected by the pilot.
Everything is color coded too. And, if there are other airplanes in the air, the software will display the adequate icons for each aircraft type. This is some serious pew-pew system. [The Dew Line]
