Because Hollywood doesn't want it that way. They don't want one winner, the way iTunes basically became the one place everybody downloaded their music (you know, when they weren't stealing it). Don't believe me? Ask Miramax's CEO Mike Lang:

"Why everyone does focus on piracy, for the music industry, what's really interesting is that it's not the biggest issue for the music industry."

"Apple is the strongest company in the music industry because there was not enough competition, and still to this day there is not enough competition. As an industry it can't then influence, packaging, merchandising – all the things that are vital."

"As an industry—the movie industry—we have to be very cognisant of that. That's why we did our deal with Netflix, and why we also did our deal with Hulu. We want multiple players to be successful."

In other words, Hollywood's more worried about you getting all of your movies from one, undisputed source—a source that then has sway over Hollywood—than it is about piracy. That's why Netflix is going to have fight for every piece of content that it delivers. That's why no single video service is going to be the only one you need—why they're all going to suck at least a little—at least for the foreseeable future.
