The recent election has certainly emboldened California marijuana advocates—the crackdown has magically disappeared, dispensaries are reopening, and Humboldt State University has announced plans to create the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research. This institute will sponsor scholarly lectures on the subject and coordinate research among 11 professors and researchers in fields like economics, geography, politics, psychology and sociology.
