This ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ Pinball Machine Could Fix Me

And you thought Matt Dinniman's hit book series getting a TV adaptation was cool.

When I read, it’s all or nothing. Either I don’t read books for months at a time, or I dive so deep into a series that it consumes my every waking second. Which is exactly where I’m at with the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. The eight-book (and counting) series by Matt Dinniman follows a man and his ex-girlfriend’s cat as they compete in a life-or-death, magical, galaxy wide gameshow after the end of the world. It’s absolutely wild, and I love it. In fact, I love it so much, I’m about ready to go broke and buy this pinball machine.

Flip N Out Pinball (via CBR) is now taking preorders on this awesome Dungeon Crawler Carl pinball machine. It is chock full of references and characters that will make zero sense to someone who hasn’t read the books. But if you have, Princess Donut, Samantha, Mongo, safe rooms, the Desperado Club, and more are all there for you to enjoy. Check it out.

The art used on the machine is by Luciano Fleitas, who does the art for the book covers, and the whole shebang costs $12,350 plus shipping. Which is a lot. But it should be for something so detailed and awesome.

I’m currently in the middle of book five of the series and really just can’t get enough of it. If you love fantasy RPGs, leveling up, loot boxes, creatures, aliens, magic, twists, turns, and violence, Dungeon Crawler Carl is where it’s at. And, as we mentioned above, there is an adaptation in the works over at Peacock from Seth MacFarlane and others. Can it be half as good as the books? Time will tell. But at least this pinball machine is out there living up to the hype.
