People believe that cycles were invented in the 19th century in Europe. Historian Xu Quan Long disagrees. He says cycles were invented 2,500 years ago, and he built this fully functional tricycle to prove it.

Xu Quan Long claims that the trike was invented by Lu Ban, a Chinese man born in 507 B.C. Ban was a "carpenter, engineer, philosopher, inventor, military thinker, and statesman" who invented the counterweighted siege ladder, grappling hooks and ram for ship battles, and something called the Wooden Bird, which apparently was the first UAV, capable of gliding for three days.
