The first TV spot for Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake has arrived, and rather than get immediately in trouble with the FCC by trying to show the film’s incredible gore, they’ve gone the other route and are showcasing audience reactions, which mostly consist of gasps, double takes and general looks of fear. I say “mostly” because the commercial ends with one nice old lady who sums up her thoughts on the “unimaginable” horror happening on-screen with a semi-emphatic “Oh gosh.” It seems like she can imagine the horror pretty easily, Sam Raimi, and she’s not that impressed. Honestly, the only way this lady cpuld be more awesome is if instead of a mild “Oh gosh” she exclaimed, “Wait, where the fuck is Bruce Campbell?”
