Three More Transformers Movies Will Be an Ever-Present Threat in 2017, 2018, and 2019

Can a winter of discontent last three years? Hasbro is hoping it’s a possibility: The company just announced that Transformers 5, 6, and 7 will drop in consecutive years.

In a short press release this morning, the toy giant confirmed that there’ll be three new entries in the Transformers franchise—Transformers 5, which director Michael Bay will return to shoot/explode violently through a camera lens in 2017, a Bumblebee-focused movie in 2018, and a more “general” Transformers movie for 2019. Each movie is expected to land in the summer of each year.

Presumably, this is the first step in the company’s move to turn the Transformers franchise into a shared universe powerhouse in the vein of Marvel—which makes sense, as the Transformers films make boats of cash. But considering the cinematic depths of hell these movies have often cavorted in… can anyone actually stomach yearly Transformers movies?
