TiVo has created a “gurus” feature that allows people of importance, namely magazine editors, to suggest television shows for you to watch. The guru advice is branded according to the source magazine—gurus include include folks from Automobile and Entertainment Weekly—and presumably they pay for the pleasure of getting their logo out there.
Considering I only just now discovered Robot Chicken because a friend told me about it, this may be a good way to find interesting shows to watch.
