It’s fairly well known that Chris Nolan doesn’t like to include deleted scenes or a “gag reel” on his DVDs. But this video is stuffed with slightly different takes from his now-classic film The Dark Knight, along with a few new scenes.
While the video might be old, the moments where the Joker is walking out of Gotham Hospital, riding the bus, and doing the neck jerk after he blows up the gentleman in the jail are very new to us (among a few others). It’s kind of amazing to see just how precise Nolan really is — his “deleted scenes” are simply slightly different ticks and actor deliveries. Plus it’s always amazing to see anything new from Heath Ledger’s inspired performance as The Joker.
