US Military Releases Video of the Mother of All Bombs Strike From Yesterday

Yesterday, the US military dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb in its arsenal on Afghanistan. Nicknamed the Mother of All Bombs, reports indicate that it killed 36 ISIS fighters and there were no civilian casualties. TV news stations have been playing footage of MOAB bomb tests from 2003, but the military just released actual footage of the strike.

As you can see, the aerial footage doesn’t give a great perspective on what happened. But it’s it’s a view that perhaps gives us a peek into how much life can be lost so quickly, despite it all looking like a video game. Thirty-six ISIS militants died in that strike—a blip on the screen for most of us.

“No civilian has been hurt and only the base, which Daesh used to launch attacks in other parts of the province, was destroyed,” Dawlat Waziri, an Afghan ministry spokesman told the Guardian.

From the US military description of the strike:

A GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb strikes ISIS-K cave and tunnel systems in the Achin district of the Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan at 7:32 p.m. local time Thursday. The strike was designed to minimize risk to Afghan and U.S. Forces conducting clearing operations in the area while maximizing the destruction of ISIS-K fighters and facilities and eliminate any perceived safe haven for ISIS-K in Afghanistan.

Hopefully, those reports that only ISIS fighters died are accurate. But at this point we don’t know for sure. In any case, here’s your war porn for the day, as we march toward the possibility of war on the Korean peninsula.

Don’t worry everyone; Novak will be sure to shout from the rooftops if any innocents are killed. He’s an active member of the Blame America First crowd, especially since Trump was elected. If Obama had done this action (Ha!), and there had been unintended collateral damage, Novak would be as silent as a church mouse or would diligently report how hard Obama tried to avoid it.

You can practically HEAR how disappointed he is that this was successful. (Well, they SAY nobody else was killed. Well, here’s your war porn. Well, we’re marching towards war again.).

Just slightly less of a hack than Starr (what happened to him)?
