Vonage’s new box

Vonage, which offers a flat rate broadband Voice over IP telephone service, is coming out with a new version of the Analog Telephone Adapter box you use to make phone calls. The old one, which was made by Cisco’s, had to be plugged into a router first, but the new VT1000v from Motorola makes it possible to connect directly to a DSL or cable modem, and has an Ethernet port for hooking up a single PC. If you have two or more PCs, you’ll still need to use a router. but if you only have one PC this means you’ll have one less box to deal with.
