It’s Spock’s crib, and who doesn’t want to hang out with Spock? True, a lot of the land is dangerous and a little unfriendly but the good Vulcans are smarter than you and have built glorious cities, with a very unique architectural style, and forested wildlife preserves for you to play in. All nearby provinces are plotted out logically so there’s no reason to get lost. Even the dry, hot parts of Vulcan would still be interesting to visit via space-pod, like the Fire Falls. Plus there’s Vulcan wine and port a plenty.
