You’re on the market for a new tablet, you’ve scoured the web for spec sheets and pricing, and you’re still stuck on which is best for you. What’s a dead cert to swing your choice towards one tablet over another? Knowing that ex-Mr Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, was “product engineer” on one, of course!
Kutcher, he of Dude Where’s My Car? and Steve Jobs biopic fame, had (we’re assuming, and hoping) a cursory role in the development of Lenovo’s new Yoga tablet during which he was bestowed the product engineer title. The company’s first “multimode” tablet, it’s looking to bridge the gap between tablet and desktop touchscreen device, thanks to a tilting, built-in stand letting it sit upright, lay flat, or be raised at a low angle for touch-typing.
Under the hood, the Android 4.2 device runs off a quad core processor, offers both Wi-Fi and optional cellular connectivity and will be available in both 8 and 10-inch sizes. Screen resolution is a relatively lowly 1280 x 800, while 16GB and 32GB built-in storage configurations can be supplemented by microSD cards. Battery life tops out at an impressive 18 hours too. Launching in November, you’ll pay around $300 or $400 for the 8-inch and 10-inch Wi-Fi models respectively. [Gizmodo UK]
