Wal-Mart is denying this, by CNET is reporting that the retail behemoth is going to eliminate the middleman and start selling its own line of laptops under the Wal-Mart brand name. These would probably be no-frills machines built by a manufacturer and rebadged, but the net effect of this would almost certainly be some sort of price war, something which is always good for consumers.
