According to a report by Variety, Warner Bros. is finally stepping up its animation game for the future. After the massive success of The Lego Movie, the studio has scheduled two new films from its animation think-tank. Neither have titles yet, but they'll both be in 3D. One is set for Feb 10, 2017 and the other will be released on Feb 9, 2018. And considering The Lego Movie came out on February 7, it seems Warner Bros. has a thing for that window. Both movies are also the first to be announced for those dates, though Disney has three movies already planned for 2018 and Fox has five.

It's also interesting to note that, despite owning one of the most recognized cartoon franchises in Looney Tunes, Warner Bros. hasn't done much animation-wise this millennium. Aside from their recent success, their only other hit was 2006's Happy Feet. There were a couple of flops too, but Warner Bros. seemed focused on other avenues until now.
