Warner Brothers Wants Space Invaders To Attack You, But Slowly

Asteroids, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Missile Command… and now Space Invaders? Is no arcade game safe from Hollywood adaptations? Rumor has it, Warner Brothers wants to get into the neon green, slowly-charging aliens game.

The L.A. Times is reporting that Warners is trying to buy the movie rights to the classic arcade game Space Invaders. Producing the project, if all goes as planned, will be Mark Gordon, Jason Blum and Guymon Casady, who have worked on various genre projects from The Day After Tomorrow, The Relic, to Paranormal Activity.

We’re not really sure what it will look like, but let’s assume it’s some sort of Independence Day-type action film… or this:
