Watch a 3D Printer Play a Mean Imperial March Cover

YouTube is full of videos of defunct and outdated computer hardware that’s been hacked and turned into musical instruments. Everything from disk drives to dot-matrix printers has been given a symphonic second life, and despite being a relatively new technology, even 3D printers have now been taught to play Star Wars’ Imperial March.

What’s most impressive is just how well the multiple stepper motors on a 3D printer are able to reproduce a tune. And if you’re lucky enough to have a 3D printer at your disposal, you can actually head over to MakerBot’s Thingiverse (where you probably spend a lot of your time anyways) and download a few songs to try yourself.
