Watch Peter Parker Explain His Amazing Spider-Life in the First 9 Minutes of Into the Spider-Verse

Amazing. Spectacular. Sensational. The one and only Spider-Man.

Let’s start from the beginning, one last time.

To celebrate this week’s digital home release of the Oscar-award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in the U.S., Sony has uploaded the opening nine minutes of the film to its YouTube channel, for your viewing pleasure (and also to shove in the faces of anyone who’s yet to see it while you scream “WATCHITWATCHITWATCHIT” in hysteria at them).

That means you can relive getting to know the Peter Parker of Earth-1610, better known to his friends and his frenemies as the one and only Spider-Man. And getting to know Miles Morales, before he proves poor Peter very wrong about that whole “one and only” thing.

Or, you know, you could just watch Spider-Man dance in an homage to Spider-Man 3. It’s all good.

God fucking bless this perfect movie.

This movie got so, so much right. I am genuinely jealous of my children, because when I was their age (2) we got The Land Before Time, Oliver & Company, The Brave Little Toaster, and All Dogs Go to Heaven. Granted, with the exception of Oliver, those are classic movies, but they’re also not on the level of Into the Spider-Verse. These kids are going to be so spoiled when it comes to the quality of the entertainment they get.

Also, I cannot be the only parent who’s jealous of his kids for existing in a world where they don’t have to wait for The Lord of the Rings to be released. Or really any of the amazing nerd culture that’s happened since I was in high school and suffering through Elektra.
