Amazing slow motion video of kingfisher birds hunting underwater

Kingfishers are prolific anglers. These birds have to be because they eat their body weight in fish every day. Watch as they dive into water at breakneck speeds in search of their next meal.

These fantastic scenes were shot by wildlife cameraman Colin Stafford-Johnson at the River Shannon in Ireland. The clip was part of a recent PBS documentary chronicling the country’s Wild River.
