You just buy the app and you get all the convenience of using your iPad to read the news online, but without the internet's annoying habit of being completely free. And that's just for starters.

Colbert takes on The Daily for being essentially worthless, both for its editorial vision (old dogs! rich South Dakotans!) and, you know, its entire mode of being. And while The Daily hasn't been around long enough to say that Colbert's right... well, he's not exactly wrong.

One quick note, to take or leave as you will: this smackdown comes just when Colbert is appearing on the cover of that other international billionaire media mogul's iPad-only magazine, The Project, but Branson gets off clean. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. [Colbert Report]

The Daily is one of the most poorly-written apps I've ever installed. Laggy, buggy, and confusing. I'm not even going to bother thinking about whether I like the content when I can't get past the shitty app.
