Watch the PlayStation Phone Actually Play Games

Oh, hello there, PlayStation Phone! Here's the clearest video yet of Sony's mobile gaming messiah living out its main purpose: playing Biohazard 2 and Rage Racer. Get some.

We've seen the hardware before, and a bit of the interface, but there's a little more of a thrill that comes watching the phone play actual PlayStation games. Take note, though, that it looks like both games are being run through an emulator—meaning, perhaps, that the software's not totally in place yet.

Still, looks promising so far! Although whether the Xperia Play turns out to be the natural evolution of PSP or another N-Gage trainwreck remains to be seen. Fingers crossed for the former. [Edge Magazine via Engadget]

If the best this thing can pump out is PSOne graphics I'll pass.

Both games looked like crud and using a d-pad is downright archaic especially when playing something like Resident Evil. I thought that center portion was supposed to be virtual thumbsticks or something.

If I want another PSP I'll just wait for the PSP2.
