This one’s a little old, but we thought it was still worth mentioning. These Airswitch lamps from Mathmos activate with a simple wave of the hand above the opening; you brighten or dim it by moving your hand higher or lower. It’s a pretty cool concept, but the lamps simply look weird — like a pottery class project gone horribly wrong, or reject beakers from a high school chemistry lab.
