It’s still that part of the new year where you forget it’s actually 2013 and not 2012 so we can still wrap up last year without feeling like it’s too late, right? Anyway. Pingdom gathered up all of its research and spit out the massive numbers of Internetting. We highlighted some of them here:
2.2 billion e-mail users worldwide
144 billion – total e-mail traffic per day
68.8% of e-mail is spam
87.8 million – Number of Tumblr blogs.
246 million – Number of domain name registrations across all top-level domains.
2.4 billion – Number of Internet users worldwide.
40.5 years – Average age of a Facebook user.
37.3 years – Average age of a Twitter user.
1.2 trillion – Number of searches on Google in 2012.
1 – The top trending question of the year on Ask.com: “Will Rob and Kristen get back together?”

It sort of feels like years just start piling on top of each other and nothing much really changes about the Internet but that’s not true.
