The Hulu icon shined so brightly in the Google TV demo. Hulu, on our TVs, finally? Well, maybe.
Google VP of Engineering Vic Gundotra answered, when pressed, that they’re only technically enabling you to watch Hulu—since any Flash content works in Google TV—but it’s still up to the Hulu whether or not they’ll do something like block access from Google TV (as they’ve done for Android phones running flash, since they don’t have mobile distribution rights).
Two possibilities: Hulu will indeed block access, as they have from Boxee and the PS3, because they don’t want you watching Hulu on a TV quite that way, at least not yet. Or, since Google is, um, Google, maybe it’ll really happen. We’ll see.
