A special weather alert for Winnipeg ominously begins: “Winter is coming.” But unlike the forecast from Game of Thrones, Winnipeg, Manitoba’s warning is a lot more literal than metaphorical as the alert goes on to describe an intense low pressure system, a plummeting cold front, gusting winds, and flurries.
