It feels like we’ve been hearing about Xreal and Google’s Aura XR glasses for a long time, and, to be honest, we kind of have. The Aura glasses were officially unveiled in May 2025, which is a long time to wait if you’re itching to get XR glasses on your face, though the good news is that the wait is almost over.

Xreal announced today that the Aura glasses are officially on sale in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and South Korea. On top of that, Xreal is trying to entice customers to buy a pair early by offering an introductory discount.

Through December, the 12GB RAM Aura glasses with 256GB of storage cost $1,099 as opposed to $1,279, while the configuration with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage is $1,299 instead of $1,500. That’s still obviously quite a bit of money either way, but if you were on the fence or already planned to get a pair, this could be a win. If you order now, the first batch of units is expected to ship in mid-November, according to Xreal.

In addition to the introductory price discount, Xreal also announced accessories, including a game controller designed with GameSir that has a Gemini key (yay?), and a wireless portable keyboard that Xreal says is for “productivity and multi-window workflows.”

Pretty much everything about the Xreal Aura is public knowledge at this point, but as a quick recap: the Aura glasses have a micro-OLED display with a max resolution of 1200p and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Xreal says they weigh “under 95 g,” and they have a field of view of 70 degrees. Notably, they are tethered and have a compute puck, which acts as the Aura’s brain.

While the Aura is launching first, it’ll face tough competition in the Meta VR Glasses, which share many of the same specs, including a 70-degree field of view and the inclusion of a compute puck. Even the price is similar, at $1,299, though Meta won’t officially release its glasses until spring 2027.
