The Incredible Mr. Limpet is getting a remake. And who better than to replace Don Knotts’ cartoon fish transforming character than Zach Galifianakis? Screw it, we’re in.

The LA Times is reporting that Galifianakis is in talks to star in a The Incredible Mr. Limpet remake. Warner Bros. is allegedly itching to bring back more live action/animation cross overs, after their success with Enchanted, and have set their hearts set on a Limpet reboot, with the comedian who’s most popular with the demographic that has the most disposable cash.

And the best part: they want it to remain true to Galifianakis insane comedy delivery. I have no idea how that will go over, but I’ll be first in line to see it. The film is about a miserable man, Don Knotts, who turns into the fish and helps the Navy fight Nazi u-boats. No word whether they are keeping the Nazi angle.

The article mentions that Johnny Depp was a possible Limpet. And yesterday, we featured an interview with concept artist Warren Manser, who revealed that he did some terrifying Limpet concept art featuring a well-known comedian. (And most of the commenters seemed to believe this referred to Jim Carrey.)
