Sony is offering both the color pink and absurd romanticism in a special $299 V-Day Sony Reader Bundle.
Coming with a pink "Cross Your Heart" Reader skin and a coupon for 14 Harlequin Special Releases...let's just say that we'd never date anyone who accepted this gift in earnest. For those interested in what a real lady (my wife) thinks about the Sony Reader, hit up her impressions here. For the record, she's still reading with it nonstop.

I hope pink skin is removable. The Valentine's days pass, but pink remains? No, thank you!
Anything wrong with comments for this article? Gizmodo, hello!
Well, the pink is cool I guess, but Harlequin romances? Who reads those?!
BTW, I read the other post about the lack of tactile feedback on how far along in the book you are. I've found that I often glance down at the "page X of Y" thing at the bottom. It ain't quite the same as seeing how many pages are left, but sometimes that's a bit misleading. Many books have appendices or glossaries or excerpts tacked on at the end.
I don't think I'll ever be able to part completely with actual books, but I love my reader. Now if only they'd make the software interface a little less clunky...
Apparently it's a skinit skin, so the pink cover is removable. I am wondering if the skin will be available separately, but it appears to be a limited edition. I have read the Harlequin ebooks - they are inexpensive (under $4) and Desire and Blaze are more "modern" - great fast reads when traveling, seem to translate better to screen than say mystery novels.
I think Apple had it right by just keeping the color red instead of having some cheesy pattern for Valentine's day.
Phuoooo...humm, did someone fart? -snif-
update: skin is removable, not available separately as it is limited edition version. You can also get a pink leather cover to go with it...which I may get instead as I don't need two of the readers - first one still has a lot of room on it!
re comments: I guess you have to be a girl to appreciate having different colors available...some people maybe wish everything still was beige like it the old days?
I love the skin, but I'm a proud girlie girl... It's the choice of books that I find offensive. Hell, I'd except Romeo and Juliet, but crap?! What the hell?!
