What do hardware engineers talk about when they're drunk? Merging two distinct gadgets into one gadget, as evidenced by this Asus MS71 mouse/storage device. It's a wireless laser mouse, but at the same time it's a USB thumb drive. The marriage of the two may sound good on paper—if you don't think about it for more than five seconds—but the actual execution gets you either something that's way too cramped to use comfortably as a mouse, or way too big to shove comfortably into a USB port. How about a Webcam/USB thumb drive next? Maybe we need to be more drunk to come up with these things. [Newlaunches]

Once i plug it in - how to i navigate with the mouse to open the drive? If i move it, it will unplug. Drunk engineers indeed!
@nutbastard: You have to have a usb extension cable. Which, of course, defeats the wirelessness of it.
@bobmarley101:
yeah this is as retarded as MY wireless mouse - the dongle has a 3 foot cable and the transmitter is... wait for it... the size of a mouse! it sits there, 4 inches in front of the mouse, looking like a mouse.
ow well, atleast its handy
Seems Asus' factory is built atop a poppy field.
if you look at the product page, the bottom detaches and acts as the flash drive and wireless dongle
This would be great for laptop users on the go.
@mferrari: Makes more sense, then. :3 They could've forgone the stick shape for a more mouse-y feel, then, though...
"No, honey, I wasn't out getting drunk, I was attending a product development seminar."
I assume the wireless part means the tiny mouse is separated from the dongle and then plugged in. It's a decent size for hobbits.
