Hey guys! We're working on the plans for this summer's NYC Giz meetup at Coney Island, and it's looking awesome. But we need to know how many people to expect, so you need to sign up to be guaranteed your share of whatever we have organized to give you.
Interested in coming to Coney Island, playing with some gadgets, riding some roller coasters, participating in (or at least watching) a hot dog eating contest, drinking beers and going to a baseball game? Who wouldn't be? It'll take place on Saturday, June 28th. It'll be an all-ages affair, so don't worry if you're under 21 or want to bring the kids, but don't expect us to buy any of you rascally teenagers beer.
If you want to get on the update list and make sure you get whatever we have planned coming to you, email gizmeetup@gmail.com with your name and how many people you'll be rolling with. And are you a company interested in getting involved with the meetup? Email me at adam@gizmodo.com. Let's talk.

Gizmodo employees - small hands. smell like cabbage.
Totally down. San Demus High School football rulz!
count me in Fruch
Crud....I'm gonna be away then! Boo!
Stuffing weenies in my mouth?!?! I'm in!
@liveinvt: you suck.
Frucci, you live my dreams. When's the Austin TX meetup? SXSW style? Have fun friends.
....i guess, whatever....
Can't make the travel, but if you guys come to Chicago, I'll meet up.
Maybe. Maybe not, but maybe. I'm definitely in for the Chicago Giz-down, when that happens, though.
doesnt sound jew friendly ..
what if we make it sunday instead
and serve hebrew national !!!
Sounds great, I'll be there, haven't been out to Coney Island the whole time I've been in NY. One last chance to test my mettle against the fear of a near-death experience that only an old wooden rollercoaster can instill.
Count Ponies in. A short ride on the B for me.
I'm in. I was planning on hitting the Cyclone again before it disappears. It's only a half hour trip for me.
MAke sure you take in a show at the Coney Island Circus Sideshow... Donny Vomit's my favorite.

What!? No Philly love?
damn it. I just moved up to NYC, but alas will be in Chicago that weekend.
Chinatown bus can get me there in record time, 20% chance of death by falling off a cliff.
@motech: It's Jew friendly sweetheart. Coney Island is full of us. Shabbos aside, gadgets are for the secular.
I'll be there
Hmmm...A Gizmodo meet-up on a Saturday in June. It looks I finally have to tell the wife what I'm really doing on the computer all the time.
I guess, "No, I swear, I'm just looking at porn" isn't going to cut it anymore.
gizmodo readers stick together right? If one drinks beer we all ahve to drink beer....... no matter what the age. Right?
I am not holding my breath waiting for a Cleveland meet up...so can you guys webcast this? Sell some of those vaporware Giz T shirts, jumpdrives, etc there too. I can order mine from you and NOT pay sales tax.
@92BuickLeSabre: With all my Gizmodo reading and ebay trolling, I haven't had time to look at porn. And because she likes to snoop into my cookies folders, she already knows I don't look at it. I miss those wholesome innocent porn-gawking days of my youth, when my internet shenanigans was less vague.
Anyone else want NB to make an appearance? I'm pretty sure he's not in NY, but he's got that gritty NYC attitude that would go swell with some Nathan's.
damn you giz! the irony is that I am living my abode in NYC the day before for TAHOE! THE IRONY.
long time Giz reader, first time commenter. I'll b in NYC all summer for an internship, def. want to meet up
I'm totally down. After many beers, i will be ready for a vomit rocket
....oh, we most definitely need a PUERTO RICO division for GIZMODO.
Expand! Expand!
:0 D
I gotta pass on the beers though. Kaiser no likee the yellow fire water.
Oh I'm def down. But only if we can play with all of Frucci's gadgets ...

I'm IN! And you can thank my namesake for the franks!
We've got Ducks, eggrolls, a '92 Buick LeSabre, a Pony and a Dog showing up to name a few. This should be interesting.
@qbrad: That's Dimas, as i think you're referring to the Ataris.
@Acemonster: I wonder how many people will be shoving things into their pants, and how many of them will lose those things on the Cyclone.
@N@tedog: We need some Commenter Hall of Fame Mortal Kombattance to go on.
There can be only one.
On a side note, i'm in for 1!
I'm down. Are you still jumping in the Shoot The Freak course for some friendly target practice, Fruch? :)
@Kaiser-Machead:
The Cyclone isn't going anywhere - it has landmark rights so it isn't being torn down. The rest of Coney Island is up in the air, though, as to what is happnening to it.
Sadly, I can no longer fit in that rickety-old rollercoaster - too tall. Well, I can kinda shoehorn myself in, but it makes for a very uncomfortable ride.
Long Trip for me, is there a deal on a Hotel that us "out of towners" can stay?
@P3nnst8r: ha! I vote for 'combination' a la Voltron as opposed to 'elimination' a la Highlander.
@P3nnst8r: le sabre would roll over ponies just like the old pic.
i miss those days. horsemeat....hmmmm.
im hungry for taco bell all of a sudden. must be all this hot dog horsemeat talk.
I would love to come but unfortunatley the asylum doesnt let me out on saterdays
wow! Nice! hope you have fun people.
it´s things like this that makes me want to move to the us to work... no spots avaiable??
i could work as the tech guy at gawker =P
Is it going to be June 28th still or has the date changed? I may be interested in going but would have to know the date
@Curves: You're in NE Ohio, to, huh? I was just thinking it would be worth the drive just to visit NY. Gotta think about it a little more, though.
@Jesustron: or the bus just self imploding into flames if your speaking of the Boston to NY Chinatown bus line....
@P3nnst8r: Bill and Ted's actually, thanks.
@bignaz2k: There are comfortable rides on the cyclone? News to me.
hmm, to drive, bus, train or fly to NYC for a day shennagins... Driving is a no no if beers will be flowing. Schedule could be a problem for bus and train. Wallet could be a problem for plane ride.
What's time is the baseball game?
Welp folks, have fun. I'll be home drinking on the other side of the country without worrying about a ride home. I'd say I'll be at the beach... but I don't want to be great white shark bait.
I am interested, thanks. Perhaps we could work something out with our company too (www.mobilecityonline.com)
@oo0cyst0oo: O RLY?
I've just finished a 4 month bit in lovely downtown Newark (walkign distance from the New Jersey Museum of Science and Trucking), where I spent my days gold-bricking with a rather unsavory Italian fat fellow named Tony. For the record, should karma bring you to Newark, go to Hero King for the best hero sandwiches in Jersey.
However, +4 for remembering my classic super-offensive pic.
@N@tedog: Cars or lions?
going to sleepover camp, last year probably, sob sob I wish I could go, if you have one in washington, or baltimore,or anywhere in maryland, any baltimorons here besides me?
@Jesustron: Or exploding.
Unfortunately I don't think the wife would let me justify that kind of trip...
...and I'm quite certain you won't be doing a meet up anywhere in GA or SC anytime soon, so I guess I'll just have to daydream about the fun you guys will be having.
PS-I'd be down for a hot dog eating contest. I'm pretty small (5'8" 130lbs) but can definitely hold my own
I'd love to come, but I'm going on a family vacation to florida around then, so I wont be able to make it. Shucks.
Oh fuck yeah, Coney Island is like 2 miles from my apartment. Very going to this.
@discounteggroll: Probably asking the obvious, but are you Asian? Those little suckers can put down some hot dogs.
beers & gadgets my two favorite things...ok...well i have one thats more favorite...but I'm not expecting any of you guys to put out & i'm not into dudes...
I'll be there...for the beers and gadgets
@qbrad:
Haha, touché. But this is even more so. I can't actually bend my knees enough because there isn't enough leg room, so my knees are pressed into the front well of the car, and my ass is floating a couple inches above the seat for the entire ride. Which means my knees take the brunt of every shock and jostle the coaster puts a rider through. I have a bit of trouble walking after I get out. And I'm not even THAT tall (6'2"). Oh well.
Oh hellz no! Mere hours after I leave town on my vaca. Have fun for me--swill Budweiser, ride the deathcoaster & definitely Shoot the Freak (you other locals, help them out with this).
I'm flying from Miami!
Please everyone over there at Giz peer-pressure Jesus into coming in!
Then we can all build legos together! (I'm sure we can do Legos without Jesus, but that would just seem wrong...)
Oh....and non-Zune gadgets hopefully!
And can I stress legos some more?
@Curves:
Come on Curves, I can't be the only gal there!
