Sure, Nokia’s N900 has been faced with delays, but that can’t be the sole reason it’s planning just one Maemo release in 2010, can it?

Reuters is claiming sources have tipped them off about Nokia’s hesitation to go the whole hog with the Linux platform, despite rumors suggesting it would ditch Symbian for Maemo on all its upcoming N-Series devices. While we doubt they’ll drop Symbian entirely, we’ve got to admit that Maemo 5 works a treat on the N900, and is certainly a lot more advanced than anything we’ve seen on Symbian S60. With Maemo 6 rearing its pretty little head, we would’ve thought Nokia would be throwing more weight behind this open source platform, especially given the early reviews that are crowing about how well it performs.
