According to a tweet from the Netflix Twitter account, Arrested Development is coming back. Hallelujah, the best comedy ever is returning and Netflix made it happen.

According to the tweet, new episodes will begin showing exclusively on Netflix beginning in 2013. Having a show like Arrested Development that runs exclusively on a video subscription site is huge news and a great “get” for Netflix. I reached out to Netflix for more details and will update everyone once I get more information. And, we have a press release from Netflix confirming the news. Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer issued the following statement:

Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love. It’s also a perfect example of how broad and successful our relationship has become with Fox as we work together with their film, television, international and digital divisions on several exciting initiatives.

After a few recent stumbles, Netflix has completely redeemed itself in my book with this news. Yeah, I really love Arrested Development. Now let’s all Chicken Dance! CA CA CA CA CA CA CAAAA! [Netflix]
