You’d think that Yelp, purveyor of social food recommendations, would have menu listings for each spot. Guess what? They don’t. But starting today, Foursquare users will be able to do exactly that. Yelp should be scared.
Powered by SinglePlatform, an online service for businesses to upload and maintain their menus, the menu feature will be available for more than just restaurants. Salons, pool halls, trampoline-enthusiast gyms—really anywhere that has a menu of services and goods—can post their list. The Next Web reports that Foursquare will publish menu pricing for over 250,000 local businesses in the US.
The pricing information is currently only offered up on Foursquare.com and m.foursquare.com, but pricing information should surface on Foursquare’s official apps and any other app utilizing their APIs in the near future. Seriously, why didn’t Yelp do this years ago? [Foursquare via The Next Web]
