Nokia’s having a bit of a rough go with its launch of the beautiful Lumia 900. But today it launched the new, NFC-packing Lumia 610 at WIMA, and it’ll have support from Visa and MasterCard when it gets here.

The 610 resembles the budget-friendly Lumia 710 more than the Lumia 800 or 900. There aren’t many details on the new NFC version of the 610 besides Visa and MasterCard being on board. What specs we do have include 256MB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage.

But the NFC capabilities will be what set the 610 apart, in all likelihood. Hopefully. Google’s similar NFC platform Google Wallet has been mostly neutered by US carriers and hacks. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen here. [Nokia via VentureBeat]
