To many of us, Paolo Nutini is synonymous with his 2006 song "New Shoes." The feel-good hit instantly puts a smile on my face, entices me to throw a pair of squeaky clean new kicks on, and do something I rarely ever want to do, which is move.

Now, nearly a decade later, the Scottish singer is back with a sultry new jam. Using snippets from the 1965 Bettye Lavette song of the same name, "Let Me Down Easy" is a funky, old-school pop song that Nutini's sweet voice meshes beautifully with. After giving it one listen, we're tempted to swing open the doors with our fruity cocktail and watch the sun set as we ring in the final half of summer. It's a shame we're stuck in an apartment, so the fire escape will have to do.
