Soar Through the Alps With This Interactive Video of a Wingsuit FlightS

Taking flight with a wingsuit is probably the scariest thing I can think of doing. And that's part of the reason why this interactive video of German crazy person Beni Kälin jumping off a Swiss mountaintop is so cool. It feels like you're flying—except without the risk of dying part.

The peak in question is the famous Eiger, the 13,000-foot monster near Bern famous for its impossible-to-climb north face. That north face appears to be Kälin's launching point, because he falls straight down before leveling out and soaring over the countryside. Thanks to the 360-degree camera on his helmet, he recorded footage of his jump in every direction—and thanks to some clever coding, you can more or less look around while you're watching the video and see what the daredevil saw.

It's much more blissful that what seasoned wingsuit flyer Jeb Corliss saw last year when he crashed into the side of a mountain at 120 miles per hour. [FastCo]
