100 Years Later: The Evolution of the NYC Subway Map

If you've lived in the Big Apple for any amount of time, you've more than likely taken the Subway. You've also probably wasted plenty of time staring at the map. Our video editor Matt Toder threw together a video of the Subway map's evolution, beginning with a map crafted 100 years ago.

One thing I never realized is that the train lines all started in Brooklyn, and not Manhattan. And it's also fun to watch the map turn into something of a visual, ahem, trainwreck. I had kinda just assumed every stop had been around for a million years. Clearly I was wrong.
